چکیده
This study presented recently reprocessed multi-channel seismic data and multi-beam bathymetric map to reveal the geomorphology stratigraphic architecture of Yongle isolated carbonate platform in Xisha Archipelago, northwestern South China Sea. Our results show that upper slope angles exceed 10° even reach ∼32.5° whereas lower vary from .5° 5.3°. The variations margins Atoll belong escarpment (bypass) erosional (escarpment) margins. interior is characterized by sub-parallel parallel, semi-continuous continuous reflectors with medium-to high-amplitude low-to medium-frequency. shows a sub-flat flat-topped shape its geometry aggradation backstepping occurring on According our seismic-well correlation, started forming Early Miocene, grew during Middle subsequently underwent drowning Late Pliocene Quaternary. Large-scale submarine mass transport deposits are observed southeastern southern slopes reshape since Miocene. magmatism hydrothermal fluid flow pipes around have been active 10.5–2.6 Ma. Their activity might intensify dolomitization platforms Miocene Pliocene. further suggest situated upon pre-existing fault-bounded block flat pre-Cenozoic basement rather than large scale volcano as previously known depth likely reached 1400 m, which deeper well CK-2 suggested.

Identification of Seawater Quality by Multivariate Statistical Analysis in Xisha Islands, South China Sea
Xisha waters are considered to be in pristine condition, while facing the fast increasing stress under anthropogenic activities. Water quality around Yongxing Island (YX) has been measured in May, 2012. The results show that the water quality is of the first class standards as compared to the water quality of China, with insignificant difference among the monitoring stations. Robust principal c...

A Novel Roseosiphophage Isolated from the Oligotrophic South China Sea
The Roseobacter clade is abundant and widespread in marine environments and plays an important role in oceanic biogeochemical cycling. In this present study, a lytic siphophage (labeled vB_DshS-R5C) infecting the strain type of Dinoroseobacter shibae named DFL12T, which is part of the Roseobacter clade, was isolated from the oligotrophic South China Sea. Phage R5C showed a narrow host range, sh...
